My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our night out ice fishing and seeing the aurora for the first time! Aaron was great at teaching us how to ice fish and alerting us when the aurora was out. We learned a lot about the area and the aurora during our time fishing. The reindeer sausage and cooked fresh fish was a unique experience as our guide cooked it on the wood stove right in front of us. We were also offered hot chocolate and water and there is an outhouse outside. The cabin was cozy for such a cold night (-26!). Aaron informed us that it’s even colder on the lake so be prepared for even colder temperatures than what the weather is calling for. Definitely recommend easy layers as the cabin can be warm and you will be going in and out to check out the sky. The fish didn’t bite much throughout the night, but we know that things like this cannot be controlled. Nonetheless, fishing helped passed the time as we waited for the aurora. The aurora was absolutely beautiful and worth every penny. There is no light pollution over the lake and we got lucky with a clear sky that night.

My ice fishing cabin is located in the perfect place for great aurora viewing--a clear view of the sky without light pollution and only 13 miles from Fairbanks. Thank you for the review.

The team and the experience were fantastic. CJ is the best. Alaska has been one, if not the best trip of my life, largely because of the experiences. I would certainly do it again.
