We recently had a 12 person outing with Backwater Adventure. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves, the Craig Cats are pretty cool once we get the hang of it. You will get wet at times once you hit the Gulf waters, but its all good. If I had one criticism, the "tour" felt very "follow the leader" and had zero substance. Mostly just driving around, following doug, then we get to the stopping area, we sit around for a bit, then we head back. There was a very quick dolphin siting once at the island, but that was very "matter of fact", like "hey look there are dolphins..." those that didnt beach yet got to go around them, others did not. Maybe this experience was because it was a large group. But I probably wouldnt do this again. I have done other 10,000 island tours and they were a much better experience (and they were with 6+ water craft as well). Please take my criticism as a "room for improvement" and not a negative. It was still a good time!

This is a great way to spend half of a day on the water in the 10,000 Islands. We just spent 2 weeks on Marco Island (our 19th Christmas there). I took my 11 year old niece Colleen. She was delighted to hear that we would be driving the boat ourselves. We have lots of boating experience and this little boat really made for a great time. The ride was really fun, (zippy, quiet, and stable). We loved the scenery in the backwater including the stop at a secluded beach for a little time to meet the other boaters and discuss the fun. Donnie did a great job navigating the maze of mangrove waterways and shared his knowledge of the area with us at the stop. This adventure will be first on our list for our next visit to Marco Island later this year.

Carroll & Jeannie What a way to spend a few hours on the water with a couple of friends or teens. My wife and I were eating at Marker 8 in Goodland last year and saw Doug pass by with a group and we both said let's see if we can find out more. Last years vacation schedule didn't allow for a tour, so this year we made sure it would happen. Backwater Adventures owners Doug & Lisa ensure the trips beat expectations. Doug was our guide and covered the safety instructions and operation first thing. Informed us about the tour and off we went. Craigcat's are easy to drive. You experience slow speed and fast. No problem at all. The scenery is fantastic. We saw a wide variety of wildlife including many dolphins and a large turtle. Mangroves in the 10,000 Islands are everywhere. Have already told friends this is a must do with teenage grandkids.
