So many gorgeous dolls! It was a beautiful walk down memory lane. Loved seeing the side by side of fashions of the time and what Barbie was wearing, very iconic. One of the highlights was definitely the Bob Mackie dolls at the end (wanted to include all the pictures of those but I won’t spoil it) Wonderful collection! Gift shop included dolls for sale which was a cool addition for collectors.

I loved seeing all the Barbies I owned as a child. Best part is the photo option in the car I also owned as a child.

It’s very nice but not very big. Not as many dolls as I’d hoped. The narrative of cultural interpretation was probably accurate but brief, shallow, not in depth. Ok, it’s not a PhD dissertation. Mostly reflective of evolution women’s fashion and women’s roles. Staff SUPER friendly. A couple of cute photo ops. A diversion, not a destination experience.

Glad you enjoyed the Barbie: A Cultural Icon Exhibition and extremely happy to read our team was great. The exhibition is 5,000 square feet of 100’s artifacts dating back to 1959, including a real doll #1 along with many very rare dolls and genuine clothing, a life-size mirror pink Corvette, and numerous other photo ops. The theme of which is ā€œ60 years of culture and fashionā€.
