Barrier Island Shelling Tour

Overview
Our three-hour Barrier island shelling tour is the perfect tour if you want to spend a little more time looking for a really special shell. Captains are always US Coast accredited master captains with decades of experience to ensure safe passage even in rough weather. Your guide is a certified Florida Master Naturalist with a wealth of knowledge to help you understand not only what you'll find but also where to look to locate the most sought-after and rare shells like the infamous Junonia. A truly memorable shelling experience as all of our tours are small groups and very intimate. Tour destinations may include Caxambas sandbars, Kice Island, Morgan Island, Cape Romano, and Second Chance Shell Bar (aka Shell Island). Shelling locations are dependent on the time of the year, weather, tide, and wind. Shelling locations are at the captain's discretion.

What a great experience! Capt. Nate and Jules were great hosts. We found a lot of quality shells and Capt. Nate put on a great talk. We learned a lot of interesting facts and history. They went above and beyond. The ride through the mangroves was really interesting and included dolphins, the dome houses and other cool sights. We will definitely charter Capt Nate and Jules again! They definitely know what they're doing and their boat was clean, easy to get in and out of and provided great shade.

It was our pleasure having your family on the boat, helping you seek out some great shells, and share the Ten Thousand Islands with you! See you when you come back to Marco for some more ā€˜Island Timeā€™. Thanks for your review!

My girlfriend and I came all the way from Hawaii to go shelling in world famous kice island and were not disappointed! Went on a 4 hour shelling tour this morning with captain Nate and found the most amazing shells! He also went out of his way to find a few rare shells to give us to make sure we didnt go home empty handed even though the islands were loaded with great shells! One of the highlights for us was that we really wanted to find sand dollars and at the last place he took us, we found two sand dollars but even more, he went out on his own and found a bunch and gave them all to us! Definitely Recommend this shelling tour company and captain Nate! You wonā€™t be disappointed!

Captain Nate of Florida Island Tours was an awesome tour guide! We saw a pod of dolphins and Captain Nate got them to play with us! We also collected bunches of beautiful shells and a couple sand dollars, and learned about the Cape Romano Dome House. My sister and I had so much fun we just might have to do it again next year!

The Ten Thousand Islands is incredible for its wildlife and incredible shelling. Having a seasoned guide like Captain Nate ensures that you see dolphins and get to the best remote barrier islands to get amazing and plentiful shells. Canā€™t wait to see you and your sister again next year šŸ¬šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘šŸš
