Perhaps most famous for being home to Elvis and the iconic musical landmark Graceland, the city of Memphis, Tennessee has many other famous musical attributes. During this private tour of Beale Street and Sun Studio, you’ll discover the city’s musical heritage, how Sun Studio started, its importance and who recorded it there. Sam Phillips, the founder, led the likes of Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash to fame from this studio. You’ll visit Beale Street in Downtown Memphis, the most significant music street in America when it comes to blues music and an important location in the city’s history.

*Please note: this tour finishes at Sun Studio, where you will be responsible for arranging your own transport. If you wish for us to arrange a hotel drop off for you, please be in touch before the tour.

Which commemorates William Christopher Handy, a composer and musician who saw himself as the Father of Blues and whose music paved the way for America's Rock n’ Roll.

Memphis Central Station

Open since 1947, programmed entirely for African Americans. B.B. King and Rufus Thomas started their work at WDIA, and it had a huge impact on Elvis.

Beale Street

A must-see attraction during your tour of Memphis as it's one of the most famous streets in America. Your guide will point out to you the legends hidden in plain sight, including the Domino Lounge, Pee Wee’s Saloon and BB King's nightclub

Our guide was great. He knew so much about memphis and beale st. Highly recommend Michael. Sun records is a must see. So glad this was included.

We booked the private walking tour of Beale Street with Sun Studio. Sun Studio was fantastic and we had a very limited wait which was great considering the long line We did not find the tour of Beale Street very informative and our guide did not add much historical commentary. We walked through a very sketchy area to reach Sun Studio and our guide was not in tuned to how uncomfortable we were. After wrapping up at Sun our guide could not work his phone to get a ride share ( which was included in our tour) so we had to pick up the tab for the ride. We did make a few more requested stops and concluded back at Beale St. I think there were better options for a tour and this was not worth the money. Overall this lasted 3 hours and walked about 2.5 miles
