What To Expect

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

Take a brief shuttle to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center for a guided & interpretive tour of the animals. The center is Alaska’s premier rehabilitation facility for injured and orphaned wildlife. AWCC Tour runs 1.5 hours and includes walking and driving options to view the animals. A sack lunch is provided with this tour.

Alesha did an awesome job as our guide, particularly on the river float trip. Very knowledgeable and personable. She's a keeper! I could definitely have done without the wildlife conservation center visit. Seemed like a low quality zoo. The logistics management-- bus, train, whistle stops, rafts, gear, lunch, and everything else was exceptionally well managed, and I appreciate that.

It was inspiration for the soul! The train ride was cool but too short from Girdwood. All of the employees were friendly and customer service oriented. Ben was out rafting guide on the Spencer Glacier float. He was great! He was very attentive to our needs, safety focused, personable and funny. It was very interesting and surprisingly cold for the summer!

Brilliant activity. We are an older couple in our 70 s but the whole day was brilliant. We were teamed with a younger family and we all just loved every minute. Would highly recommend this to all age groups. So much fun.
