Overview

Middle Clear Creek is one of the greatest beginner rafting runs in the nation. With numerous rapids and historical significance, it is hard to deny the value. Although Clear Creek holds more rapids than most any other run in the US, the rapids of our Middle section are straight-forward and perfect for families with children or anyone else looking for something a bit easier. Rafters will also catch glimpses of Colorado's rich gold mining history and maybe even a miner or two as they splash down this unique stretch of whitewater.

Our whole family enjoyed whitewater rafting with Downstream Adventures!! Everyone was great to work with from booking, throughout the trip and after!! We highly recommend using Downstream Adventures and would definitely book again with them!!

We came at the end of August so we knew that the rapids would be at the lowest levels (often by that point in August, they have closed up for the season). Even so, it was a great trip. Russel was fantastic and fun. We chose beginner because of our 9 year old daughter and that was a little boring for my teenagers but that was the nature of the creek at that time. I had read the reviews of others who claimed that they chose Downstream because it is smaller and you feel more connected. I couldn't agree more. As we were getting on the creek, I could see another company getting ready to begin in about 30 minutes. They had a group of 60. I would not have liked that. I liked that Downstream ensures that you feel special and not one of a massive group. Would definitely choose them again.

This was our first time rafting and we had the best time!! Our guide Jonathan was awesome!! I’m not the most adventurous person and was super nervous but this was a perfect introduction, I’m ready to do it again!!!
