From beginning to end, it was a fabulous tour. When we rrached the summit, it was very windy and cold. We were provided with warm jackets, pants and mittens. Every need was anticipated. Warmed up vans for us to get the chill off. The veggie sandwich was a great surprise. Delicious. Mr Aoki, the photographer, went beyond and above to get wonderful pictures of the sunset and stars. They were included in the tour, all of them. Our guide and driver, Wes was terrific. Informative and again, made sure we were all comfortable and well taken care of. I highly recommend this tour to everyone. Don' miss it.

We had a great time on this tour. We paired up with another van so we had the benefit of 2 tour guides who knew different things. Van seats were comfortable and he kept the van at good temperatures, both when we needed cold and warm air. Very knowledgable about the star systems and volcanic history of the island. Tour lasted full stated time (I've been on some that don't even come close). Pants, parkas and gloves were available for everyone, and believe me, you will need them! I will say that the size range available is very limited, they mostly only have size large, but I just didn't button the pants top or zip up the jacket. I put my zip hoodie on backwards and left the jacket open. They will also educate you about altitude sickness and how to avoid it. I didn't get it, but my husband did. Mild headache and nausea, but it was short lived. Also, be warned that if you are planning to rent a 4 wheel jeep to go up there yourselves, the rental car companies don't allow it (here, or several other places on the island). So if you do it anyway and get into trouble or an accident, the insurance won't cover it.

We had the best time on the tour. Wes and Aoki were amazing. They made sure everyone was okay the whole time with the altitude changes and took great photos of us. This is a must do experience in the Big Island and was definitely the highlight of the trip.
