Our tour guide Ike did a fantastic job reinforcing our first impression of falling in love with Austin. He’d quickly learned our names even before the tour started, and as we were getting settled for our trip, Ike made sure to ask us all about our expectations, and things we wanted to see and learn. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable, and witty in his tales. The tour was supposed to run for 2 hrs but he put some extra time in to finish the route we agreed upon. Towards the end of the trip, we had a lovely opportunity to sample some delicious gelato from a local food truck (I recommend strawberry flavor). Some highlights of the trip: Visiting State Capitol, learning about famous Mexican bats that proudly take residence under a city bridge every year from March to October, learning about local restaurants, bars, live music, and talking about University of Texas.
