On two trips to jackson, I've taken excursions with Wildlife Safaris each time. Each was great. Our most recent trip was a full day in Yellowstone with family members, 5 kids ages 6-11 and 5 adults. It was our best day of the week. Definitely use this outfit for wildlife tours!

For our 50th wedding anniversary, we took an amazing tour of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. It was a private tour that included our two sons, our daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren (ages 13 and 9). Our guide, Barry, made the trip unforgettable. Barry is personable, friendly and has a great sense of humor. From the time we started at 6:30 am in Jackson until we returned at 9 pm, the day was filled with wonderful views of the Grand Tetons, beautiful lakes and streams, geysers, waterfalls, and all the wildlife we hoped to see. Thanks to Barry's knowledge and experience, we were able to see a mama bear (No. 399) with two cubs, moose and elk. And we saw lots of bison. We even got caught in a "bison jam," when the road was blocked by a slow-moving herd. This was probably the worst part of the tour since it took over an hour to get past the herd, but it was unavoidable. Barry was ready to stop at any time and let us out of the van to take photos of wildlife and scenery. He had planned several stops including Jenny Lake, Jackson Lake Lodge, Yellowstone Lake, Old Faithful Lodge, the Lower Falls and Upper Falls on the Yellowstone River, and Hayden Valley in Yellowstone. At Old Faithful, Barry offered to secure a table for lunch at the lodge while we watched the geyser spout. There wasn't a lot of walking on this tour, but good walking shoes and comfortable clothing are recommended. The weather was rather cool and we were glad to have warm jackets and sweaters. A rain jacket was also handy to have, since there were light rains off and on all day. Although the tour was pricey, in the end, we think it was well worth the money. We would definitely recommend Wildlife Safaris for this tour.

When we started planning out trip to Jackson Hole for a family wedding, I learned that in early May a lot of things were not open. It was not really a problem because our private full day Yellowstone Tour with JH Wildlife Safari was wonderful. We were picked up at our hotel, and had a light breakfast and snacks waiting in the van. Our guide, Grant Bell, was so knowledgeable about the history of the area and the wildlife. The South Entrance of Yellowstone was closed so we had to go around through Idaho to West Yellowstone. He took us a scenic route, and stopped several times for photos. The trip did not seem long at all as Grant entertained us with the history and his wonderful facts and stories of the area, the animals and the people. He made a stop along a river and fed the huge trout, and a bald eagle flew right over us. He took us to Upper Mesa Falls on the Henrys Fork in the Caribou-Tagghee National Forest. It was very impressive and in all of our trips to Yellowstone, we had never been over to see this area outside the park. He took us to The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone which we all loved. I got a photo of Grant with the picture of ā€œGrant the Grizzly.ā€ We saw Old Faithful, had lunch at the OF Inn, and went to the impressive Lower Falls in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. As a surprise for the newly weds, Grant brought out a poster made by his wife that said Congratulations! Just Married, their names and the wedding date. They posed for photos with it in front of the falls. What a great memory that will be for them. That was so thoughtful, and they really enjoyed it. We saw a lot of bison, and were very happy to see and photograph two grizzly bears. That was our second day with Grant, and we never got tired of the information that he shared with us. Thanks for a great trip, Grant!
