This was an absolutely incredible experience! Kris and Buddha were wonderful hosts and provided perfect customer service, the boat was clean and safe - highly recommend doing this excursion in a small group setting like this one - and the time spent in the water was unbelievable. The guys did a great job of getting us prepared to get in the water which led to a seamless transition from boat to board to boat. We saw about 16 manta rays, many of which swam and barrel-rolled right near the surface under the board for the duration of our time in the water. Even as we left, we could see manta ray wings coming out of the water as they swam in the moonlight. It was truly a magical experience. This was also our second manta ray excursion - the first with C Big Island, and we absolutely recommend these guys, especially compared to the last company we went with. If you're planning to go, 10/10 recommend going with Kris and Buddha.

First of all, I have to say that their customer service is absolutely amazing! They had to re-schedule our trip due to a swell on the night we were supposed to go out, and the woman with whom I spoke was very helpful to make sure that we were able to fit the trip in before we left Kona. I was a little disappointed that we did not leave the pier on time to see the sunset from the water as I thought that was a part of the trip. Also, the board was a little packed. I was holding on with one hand for most of the time in the water due to space. We were a group of three who wanted to experience the mantas together. I know another group of two did not get to be together while on the board. It would have been nice if placement on the board could have been organized a little better. Buddha was great in the water. He tried to keep us away from the crowds (although other boards were mugging us), and kept us in the water longer than the rest to try to get that one last view in. One of the last mantas we saw had to have been more than 10’ wide! In the end, we saw 3-4 manta during the time in the water, and one did a summersault (versus a barrel roll) right up near us - that was super cool! It was an exciting adventure you don’t want to miss.

Aloha Wendy, thank you for the compliment......us office workers sometimes get forgotten :) I knew you were leaving so we did squeeze you in on a trip which yes makes it a bit tight but most customers understand if that was them and it was once in a life time thing you wanted to do. Really glad you and the family got to experience the mantas. They are very special.

Chris and "Budda" did a fantastic job getting us to the spot, finding a good, active manta ray, and giving us enough time to watch it feed. It was really nice being part of a smaller group, as they literally swam us around to find the mantas, as opposed to the bigger boats where it appears the mantas have to swim to you if you want to see them. Highly recommend!

Oh yes I call him Budda the manta whisperer :) They seem to attract to him for some weird reason....must be his calling LOL Captain Kris also one of the best captains I know. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and so glad you enjoyed this experience with us. :)
