Big Island Zipline Adventure - 2 1/2 hours

Overview
Botanical World's Zip Line is the most exciting zipline in Hawaii and possibly the world. With 8 lines gradually building to the last two that are dual side-by-side zips to share with a friend. The Grand Finale is over a huge 330 foot (100 meter) gorge with a 250 foot (76 meters) waterfall. Our Zip Isle zip Line Adventure is the longest operating zip line on the Big Island operating since 2009 with an unblemished safety record. With each of the 8 zip lines the excitement builds as the lines get longer as you continue to be thrilled. The amazing views from the suspension bridge will give a story to tell of true Hawaii as you pass the HUGE mango tree hundreds of years old that may have seen Kamehameha walking along the rapids of the stream gorge below. Your guides share the many secrets of the plants, let you taste fruits and spices and relay the history of this unique setting in the rain forest.

My family and I did the zip line. It includes 8 different lines. The zip lines gradually increase in difficulty. There's really nothing that you have to do other than follow directions. For those who worry about heights, the heights gradually increase so you don't have to face those fears all at once. My mom wasn't sure that she'd go at all but she did the whole course. The last line had that most amazing view of the waterfall. The tour guides and belay experts were very nice and helpful. This is not something for people with hip issues. My right hip is a little sore but it was worth it. I would definitely go again if I had unlimited funds. It was somewhat pricey but it was very reasonable for what you get. From what I saw, there are zip lines that are even more expensive.

It was the first time ziplining for the adults, although not for the teens. I was terrified of it-- but I thoroughly enjoyed it, am very glad I overcame the fear. The staff was very patient, the equipment was all in very good condition and pretty new, and the way the zips were set up, they started with some short easy runs. Between zips we walked through some beautiful lush rainforests, often with a view of the Pacific in the distance. The last zip took us over a waterfall, which was amazing. Definitely worth it! The only critique I would have is that the young staff-- although very competent and patient-- did not really go the extra mile to engage the group, find out our names or anything about us. They also did not do any discussion of the botanicals we were walking through-- which seemed a bit ironic given the name of the outfit and the presence of a botanical garden run by the same company. Only one of the four staff who spent the two hours with us was outgoing-- and he was pretty funny.

My husband and I did the ziplining for the first time. The staff were extremely professional, and very safety minded. They fitted us with all of the rigging , checking it carefully both after fitting and before we actually started on the course. The scenery was amazing and as time went on the length of time for each line was longer. I believe the last line was over 1000 feet and really fast. WE will do this again for sure when we return to the Big Island
