What To Expect

Arkansas River

An amazing, full-day experience on the Arkansas River never seems long enough. Beginning in Canon City, Colorado, this Class II-III introductory whitewater trip is great for first timers and families wanting an exhilarating day of rafting in Colorado. Enjoy beautiful vistas set against the majestic Sangre De Cristo Mountain range, with varied rapids like Maytag, Five Points, Spike Buck, and Double Dip sure to leave a lasting and memorable impression. The canyon has abundant wildlife in their natural habitat, so there are plenty of viewing opportunities between the rapids, along the river's meandering banks. There are 18 miles of unforgettable whitewater to traverse. This full-day adventure includes a fresh, gourmet, deli-style lunch and plenty of opportunities to stop and swim along the way. Bring swimwear and/or synthetic, quick-dry layers, snug-fitting shoes or sandals with a heal strap, sunscreen, and sunglasses.

I always say--ANY day on the river beats any day on land. And rafting the Arkansa River with Lost Paddle Rafting was super: knowledgable staff in the office, great river guides-- friendly and funny too, and excellent navigating through the rapids. Five of us rafted ranging in age from 68 to 14, and we all said-- what a fabulous day on the river.

What a great time! This was our first experience rafting, and it was memorable. Andrew, our guide, was fantastic. Super patient and reassuring with all of us. We did the full day trip. Picnic lunch was provided halfway through, and it was huge. The water was really clear, a few different opportunities for rock jumping and swimming which our sons loved. Purchased the photo package, and received 17 pictures for the price. Funny to see the looks on everyone's faces after the fact. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Great small company--friendly, efficient, and fun!
