What To Expect

Arkansas River

An amazing, full-day experience on the Arkansas River never seems long enough. Beginning in Canon City, Colorado, this Class II-III introductory whitewater trip is great for first timers and families wanting an exhilarating day of rafting in Colorado. Enjoy beautiful vistas set against the majestic Sangre De Cristo Mountain range, with varied rapids like Maytag, Five Points, Spike Buck, and Double Dip sure to leave a lasting and memorable impression. The canyon has abundant wildlife in their natural habitat, so there are plenty of viewing opportunities between the rapids, along the river's meandering banks. There are 18 miles of unforgettable whitewater to traverse. This full-day adventure includes a fresh, gourmet, deli-style lunch and plenty of opportunities to stop and swim along the way. Bring swimwear and/or synthetic, quick-dry layers, snug-fitting shoes or sandals with a heal strap, sunscreen, and sunglasses.

My family of five (incl 19 yo, 12 yo and 10 yo) took the full-day Bighorn Sheep Canyon trip in mid-July 2020. We’ve been rafting before and were concerned that Bighorn Sheep Canyon wouldn’t be “exciting enough,” but it absolutely was! We had a great day on the river with Tyler as our guide for the morning and Kelly for afternoon. (They don’t usually switch guides but one of the other guides had gotten injured the day before which threw their schedule off.). Lost Paddle was a great Company and we intend to come back next year!

Myself, my wife and 6 yr old son went on a full day bighorn and absolutely loved it! Our guide Maddy was very personable, knowledgeable, and overall made our experience very memorable. We were on the fence about doing a full day with our son but in the end we were extremely happy with our trip!

Great day on the river! Our guide Adelaide was professional, fun and prepared. Check in was easy and I recommend filing out all waivers on-line so there is nothing to do but have fun!
