What To Expect

Arkansas River

An amazing, full-day experience on the Arkansas River never seems long enough. Beginning in Canon City, Colorado, this Class II-III introductory whitewater trip is great for first timers and families wanting an exhilarating day of rafting in Colorado. Enjoy beautiful vistas set against the majestic Sangre De Cristo Mountain range, with varied rapids like Maytag, Five Points, Spike Buck, and Double Dip sure to leave a lasting and memorable impression. The canyon has abundant wildlife in their natural habitat, so there are plenty of viewing opportunities between the rapids, along the river's meandering banks. There are 18 miles of unforgettable whitewater to traverse. This full-day adventure includes a fresh, gourmet, deli-style lunch and plenty of opportunities to stop and swim along the way. Bring swimwear and/or synthetic, quick-dry layers, snug-fitting shoes or sandals with a heal strap, sunscreen, and sunglasses.

Full day trip with kids ages 7 & 10. Incredible fun. Maddie was a great guide. Had an awesome day on the river. Highly recommend.

We used Lost Paddle in 2008 for our Jr/Sr football players summer trip. Fast forward 11 years and we finally got around to going rafting again (wife's first time). We could have chosen any one of the larger companies but didn't hesitate to use Lost Paddle. Maddy was our guide and did a great job! Her confidence in her abilities put us at ease and definitely made the day enjoyable. We are already planning a family excursion and Lost Paddle will be our choice again. Great job building a company that knows what it means to take care of their customers. You can spend your money on a bigger rafting company but the thing you'll leave with is the memory. The family and I (5 of us) had a great time rafting yesterday up in Bighorn Sheep Canyon... Everyone at Lost Paddle is so nice and helpful.... Nate was our guide and was awesome to hang out with throughout the day. Rafting was smooth and Nate keeps everyone engaged throughout the whole trip. Will definitely be back and do the whole day Royal Gorge run. Thanks Guys!
