On this three hour WALKING & DRIVING tour, you’ll travel around Birmingham to learn about the struggle for equal rights from the end of the Civil War up through the Civil Rights movement. Your tour will begin at the statue of Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth, the leader of the local movement Civil Rights struggle. We’ll discuss why the Civil Rights movement was needed and what led to segregation's fall. As you visit the major churches, parks and houses, you'll learn about a few groups who fought for Civil Rights in Birmingham and who fought against it.

Our tour guide, Mike (Clay's father) was very knowledgeable and very engaging. It's a bus tour, but you get off the bus a few times, walk around and get a closer look at things. Mike made the Civil Rights issues of Birmingham come alive!

This was our FAVORITE part of the stop in Birmingham, AL. Our tour guide, Mike, was INCREDIBLE!!!! He was so knowledgeable and captured all the significant spots of civil rights history in Birmingham. He not only showed us the sites but also told so many incredible stories with such knowledge, passion, and conviction. This is a must see tour! Thank you.
