What To Expect

Harvard University

Depart New York and trace the Eastern Coast through Connecticut to Massachusetts and its capital, Boston. Our first stop is the city of Cambridge where you'll find one of the most famous and most prestigious universities in the world—Harvard. Our tour starts with a walk in Harvard Yard, the oldest academic ground in America.

John Harvard Statue

See Widener library and rub the shoe of John Harvard for good luck.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

We continue on a panoramic tour that takes you past City Hall, MIT, and Cambridge College, before crossing over the Charles River and arriving in the center of Boston—considered the intellectual capital of the USA.

Trinity Church Boston

Visit Copley Square with its beautiful Trinity Church, and then continue with a walk along the historical Freedom Trail through Boston Common Park. Afterward, break for lunch (own cost) at Quincy Market, perhaps opting to try the city's world-famous clam chowder or a lobster roll.

Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum

After lunch, continue to the site of the famous BostonTea Party. In the late afternoon, rejoin your vehicle to your departure southwestward back to New York, where you'll arrive in the evening.

A really long day and the weather spoilt our first trip to Boston. It rained torrentially throughout. Nothing wrong with the trip but be prepared for traffic chaos in NYC and Boston. We had a mixed coach of language speakers meaning we had an English version and then an Italian version of everything. This got to be tedious.

Disappointing. Thought there would be more on the history of Boston / war of independence. Tour guide didn't give much info and was hard to hear. Drive 4+ hours each way on bus to get about 3 hours in Boston. 1 hour of which is spent at food court. Don't bother.

This tour was too long. Too far away and too much time on the bus. What we did see of Boston was lovely and our tour guide - Nina was terrific. But i wouldn't recommend this as a day trip. Too much time on the bus.
