What To Expect
1
Ghosts & Gravestones
Step aboard the trolley of the doomed and join your host, a 17th-century grave digger, cursed with a sentence of eternal damnation. This wretched creature is doomed to travel the streets of Boston and relay the stories of the unfortunate souls he encountered and the macabre events he had been witness to during his purgatory. Hear about Boston's most sinister characters - from the Angel of Death to the king of all killers - the Boston Strangler. Learn about all the haunts that call the "Hub" their home. But that's not all! Step inside two of the oldest burying grounds in Boston for a walking tour you will never forget. Learn the significance of much of the imagery found in these 17th century burial grounds and the famous and not so famous (but even more interesting) occupants therein. Visit Copp's Hill Burying Ground in the North End, nestled atop the tallest point in one of Boston's oldest historic districts. Here you will visit the final resting place of Cotton Mather, a man famous for his "intimate" involvement with the Salem Witch Trials. Then to the Granary Burying Ground where you will visit the final resting places of many of the famous heroes of the American Revolution including John Hancock, Paul Revere and Samuel Adams. Remember that half of the tour is walking, so comfortable shoes are recommended (so you don't become "dead" on your feet)!

This was the worst experience in Boston and fully left after the second stop! The staff was rude from the beginning. Single out our group from the moment we stood in the line with our cocktailsZ we were advised we couldnā€™t have them on the trolley and kindly obliged to throwing them out. They continued to make snarky comments about our group and even telling one of our members ā€œI do not like youā€. Their poor attitudes and lack of hospitality really infuriated us to the point of no return. If you want to sit like a statue and not speak, laugh, or do anything enjoyable them by all means sign up. Otherwise this is a waste of time!

Our guides were both knowledgeable and entertaining. If youā€™re a fan of the darker side of history and are looking for a new experience, this is highly recommended for you. And be sure to say hello to Zed as well. Only downsides. No bathroom breaks as there are none along the your route, parking is not that easy, recommend getting to the area an hour before the tour, and sadly no souvenirs other than great memories. Absolutely loved the experience otherwise.

Iā€™ve been on amazing ghost tours in Beaufort NC and Key West and was hopeful that In an amazing city like Boston it would be an incredible night of scary, historic stories and ghoulish graveside visits. It was not. Our tour guide, a woman spoke so fast and muddled her words together, with an accent, that we literally caught every 10th word or so, which was so frustrating because the trip is based on stories, so you need to Mae sure you hire story tellers who articulate clearly so the audience gets every word. The PA system on the trolly was horrible so when she spoke through that telling stories all the way between stops, we were lost. Between the fast taking, the accent, and the awful sound system, Iā€™m not sure anyone on the trolly caught 25% of what was said. My next issue was when we did go to a cemetery and stand around her to listen to the stories. None of them were scary at all. They were all ā€œinformationalā€. Like how there are 2300 headstones but 10,000 bodies because they stacked bodies and because headstones were stolen and some people didnā€™t get headstones in the first place. Thatā€™s not a ghost story!! And all the stories were like that. Then after that stop we rode a long way just to ā€œdrive byā€ and look up at the apartment where the Boston Stranglerā€™s last victim lived. Not very exciting. On to Boston Commons just to tell us it was the oldest park in the nation. Again, informational, not scary or spooky. Finally, an hour and a half in, my daughter and I had to go to the bathroom pretty bad so when we were getting back in the trolly after one stop, I politely asked the guide ā€œwill any of the stops have bathrooms nearby?ā€ She said to me ā€œobviously you werenā€™t listening when I said at the beginning that there were no bathrooms along the wayā€. I meanā€¦. How rude! And no I didnā€™t hear that even though we WERE listening but as I mentionedā€¦she was almost impossible to decipher!! She could have politely said she didnā€™t know of any bathrooms but perhaps we might look around at the next stop for a place to pop in. But she clearly had no concern for helping us with the situation l. So that was that. The next stop, with finding a bathroom becoming more urgent, we broke from the tour and into Beantown Pub where we used the bathroom and had a nice drink! We did not rejoin the tour. Big disappointment for $90!
