I thought my second visit to Boston should include a boat trip of some sort. Thought about going to Salem on the ferry but will save that for next time. Anyway, I decided to buy a ticket for the historical harbour cruise. It was a beautiful March morning - 20 celsius, the water was a crisp blue and the voyage lovely and calm. We were instructed to sit on the starboard side of the boat as that was where the best views would be. Started with a description of the wharf before moving past the airport. The narration included history relating to all periods of Boston, from its founding to contemporary history. The boat glided out to spectacle island for a mosey around, past a few more before coming back to towards land. This is when there was ample time to go to the bar down below for a drink but I couldn’t stop staring at the water, the birds gliding low seeking fish and the array of other harbour users. The trip lasted a hair bit more than the ninety advertised minutes and was worth every penny. Really had a great time and my personal thanks to Nate for his excellent narration.

The views of the city were brilliant and some really interesting information along the way but the further you got out of the city there was less information and not an awful lot to see. It was a really rainy and cloudy day so maybe the experience is different in the summer months. Would definitely return in the summer months and the staff were really nice. Probably wouldn't recommend on a cold rainy day but sadly we didn't have much choice as we only had 2 days in Boston. Would recommend and next time think we'd do the whale tour too.

Had a fabulous tour of Boston harbour with Nate. He was very knowledgable and made the time fly by. We saw all the sights from a new perspective. The islands histories were fascinating as was the explanation of the difference between a pier and a wharf. ❤️❤️
