The hop-on hop-off nature of this bus tours allows you all the customization you need to see Boston's best old sites at your pace. What's more, if you find a tour guide you love (like JC, whose witty banter and awesome dad jokes kept us rolling in laughter), you can just stay on and go around and around. If you get the one who only talks about the movies he's helped make, you can easily hop off and get on the next bus. Not knowing anything about Boston, we discovered that once round the circuit helped us learn the streets and feel confident in walking to other places we wanted to see.

There were three cruise ships in town and Old Town trolleys was sold out. They were the only hop on hop off bus that had a stop at the cruise ship terminal. Had to take a cab to Quincy Market and a cab back from the train station stop. Tour hit all the interesting stops except Fenway.

The tours are different based on the driver. First time we got the driver that goes by coach, if you like sports and political commentary and history lite and sarcasm and rudeness you'll love him. We thought he was terrible. Maybe it's just his Boston Becker role from the old TV show? I would have rated this 1 star. We decided to go to the second stop and got on Cindy's bus and stayed for the entire tour a second time because she was wonderful and would rate the experience 5 stars great history knowledge and even restaurant recommendations.
