too much money for what it was. I was told by the City View kiosk if I did this tour, I wouldn't need to walk the freedom trail as this tour is very informative and does most of the freedom trail stops. Well, I stayed for the whole hour and left knowing hardly much more than I already did about Boston's history, and went back to do the freedom trail on my own. My tourguide was friendly, but it was a ridiculous amount of money for this whistle stop tour of some of Boston.

The hop on hop off trolley tours are a great way to see the city and hear about certain aspects of the landmark. You can hop off and take as much time as you want at the landmark and then hop back on and head to another one.

There are lots of hop on hop off trolley tours this one, City View, if you stay on all the way round takes about an hour, and has 9 stops . We just bought the trolley tour at I think $15 each, but this did not included a harbour tour or entrance to any museum , which other tickets did. But it was what we wanted. The tour guide was a history teacher doing this in the summer holidays, well informed and entertaining. All the major sights were pointed out and a brief history explained. The history of the early revolution, beginnings of the civil war, and British rule were explained. A good introduction to Boston.
