The tour guide was knowledgeable about all the history of the city , we visited with family and everyone had fun knowing about the city. The last tour is before 5, it would be good if it was another hour or two more during the summer months

Ive done the tour before on one of Cityview's rivals and honestly speaking, it was far superior. This was the first time my family had done it, and got off at the end with little more knowledge about the city than they had before, which was really disappointing. The driver and narrator was very disappointing. All we heard throughout the tour was how she was "in a silly mood today and need to snap out of it". 4 or 5 times we heard that. Sat at red lights on 3 or 4 occasions and didnt say a thing. We heard more about how the Ducks work (one of the companies rivals) than we did about Paul Revere and Samuel Adams (she was a former Duck tour driver). Didnt once mention the freedom trail, there was nothing about Boston Common or the park, but we heard plenty about how the city are knocking down Government Centre car park. Really disappointing and a massive waste of money. Definitely would not recommend it at all.

The trip itself was a good way to get an overview of the city. We were on a bus with the infamous Johnny Boston. I have a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor and love puns so I should have loved Johnny Boston. He has a tremendous amount of knowledge and much of it was interesting. And some of his jokes were funny. But most of the ride was absolutely painful. His shtick got really old really fast. The dead pan, total lack of emotion thing was really annoying. He repeated a number of his jokes that were kind of funny the first time but were not funny the second time ("that is water under the bridge"). I was wondering if it was just me but my wife, who is used to my bad sense of humor, fully agreed, and it seemed like everyone else on the trolley either was finding him annoying or didn't speak enough English to understand. We were planning to do the full loop to get a full overview of the city so we could decide where to focus our time the rest of the trip. We were stuck in a fair amount of traffic so it took even longer. I wanted to get off and take the next trolley so I wouldn't have to listen to him anymore but his trolley was full and we would leave stops with a lot of people waiting, so it was unclear if we could get on the next trolley, so we just toughed it out.
