Bourbon Boat Tour in Frankfort with Tasting

Overview
The Kentucky Bourbon Trail has numerous ways to experience bourbon. Distillery tours, bourbon tastings, cocktail classes and more. But, we are the only look at the bourbon industry from the water!

Why is this important? Kentucky has three things that make the best bourbon: corn, knowledge and limestone filtered spring water! And specifically, without the limestone filtered spring water of the Kentucky River, we may have never had bourbon. Why? Well, that what we explore on our tour. Come find why the history of our state is what gave bourbon what it is, its character and its name.

Our Captains are not only professional mariners, but also phenomenal history guides. They will entertain you and spin for you yarns that are not told anywhere else, or in a more complete picture way, than is offered onboard the boat. Check out our Trip Advisor reviews and see how guests overwhelmingly agree!

The Bourbon Boat Tour was fun and educational. We were picked up at Buffalo Trace Distillery and driven in a 15 passenger van to the boat (a quick drive). Captain Nathan greeted us as we boarded the boat. The boat trip is about two hours on the Kentucky River. You are allowed to brink drinks and snack. Water and soft drinks are supplied on board. Captain Nathan narrated the trip giving a history of the River and the bourbon industry. He was informative and entertaining at the same time. After the boat trip we were driven back to Buffalo Trace for a tasting. We had a great time and totally enjoyed the boat ride.

Captain Nathan was a wealth of knowledge. He helped us understand the bourbon making process and the history of the river and the city of Frankfort. He was cordial and kind, a good communicator and listener. The tasting experience at Bourbon on Main was excellent. The staff was well prepare for their presentation. This was my favorite portion of our "bourbon trail". Highly recommended.
