There was only one other couple on our tour, so it had a very private feel to it. Rebecca, our guide, inquired beforehand about our preferences and level of wine knowledge. It seems that, using that information, tailored the experience to us. Rebecca is a multi-generational Fredericksburg native and a sommelier. Those two facts made her a very knowledgeable fount of interesting information - about wine and the history of the area. Ask her how/why she became a tour guide and a sommelier. Fascinating! We visited 3 winerys. The first was a production tour of Slate Mill, a large cooperative operation. It is family-owned and the owner's son was our very enthusiastic, guide within their facilities. He introduced us to some very good wines. The second was a tasting at a very small vineyard and winery, Narrow Path. This is also family owned. We had the opportunity to taste 6 different, very lovely wines. The terrace where we did the tasting is beautiful: the breeze, the views, the landscaping. We had lunch here, sandwiches from a shop in town. Quite good. The third was the Texas Heritage Winery. They also had some very interesting wines. Our time there was a bit short because we had lingered too long at Narrow Path.

I was a little hesitant to book because the price was more than I wanted to spend, but the experience was well worth it! Our guide, Rebecca, is so knowledgeable about the history of Fredericksburg and Texas wine production. We were in a group of four which made the tour feel private and relaxed. Rebecca asked us about our wine preferences and assisted in selecting ones that she felt we would enjoy testing. We started with a winery that presented a food and wine pairing, then went to another winery for a tasting, and finally to a winery where we received a tour of the facility and were given a sample tasting from one of the barrels. The last winery is one of a few that utilizes a grape harvest machine. It was fascinating to hear Rebecca explain how it works and saves time on production. This was the first time we visited Fredericksburg. We plan to return yearly and will recommend Fredericksburg Tours to all our friends and family. A big ā€œThank youā€ to Rebecca for a truly memorable day!

Thank you for your detailed review! Our goal is to provide an immersive experience with our tours - and during the Covid pandemic we are extra careful to create safe experiences as well, like limiting our group numbers and following all protocol for safety. Wineries have been seriously impacted by the loss of revenue during the pandemic and every tour, and every guest we have, helps these small boutique wineries remain viable. We love being a part of the industry, and we love that you enjoyed your day! Thank you again for the review!

Rebecca was great! Although this was not my first wine tour this was by far the best I have been on. Great information on the process of wine making, storage, and distribution. We even had a brief history tour of Fredericksburg. Would definitely recommend.
