Browns Canyon on the Arkansas River is our most popular trip! The unique combination of lots of exciting whitewater, spectacular canyon scenery, great mountain views of some of Colorado’s highest mountains and opportunities to spot wildlife make this the ideal raft trip. Exciting enough for seasoned paddlers, but not too scary for first-timers. You will want to bring your friends and family for epic rapids such as Pinball, Zoom Flume, and Big Drop!

We had such an amazing time white water rafting! We did the intermediate course and our guide, Tom, was absolutely amazing! He taught us well in the beginning, so we were more than prepared for the hard part of the course. He was very calming and told us exactly what to do so we never flipped. My whole boat was confident with him and we had the absolute best time! We are definitely visiting again to white water raft, but more importantly to see Tom!

Our group of 10 (5 adults, 2 teens, 3 kids) was split into 2 groups of 5, with Paige leading one boat and Kara leading the other. Our two boats stayed fairly close (we could see one another) and we had a fabulous trip down Browns Canyon! Both guides were excellent with regards to teaching, guiding, communicating, and they were both friendly with a wealth of information about the area. They answered questions and pointed out all kinds of interesting formations and a few animals (didn’t see many animals). The water was at the perfect level to hit plenty of thrilling rapids and avoid lots of boulders still mostly submerged (second week of June). Temp was around 80 degrees and sunny and our group opted for shorts, long sleeve water wicking tops, water sandals, and the splash jacket, life vest and helmet provided by the adventure company. Water was cold but dried quickly (and your skin dries faster than your clothes). Make sure to use sunscreen and you CAN bring a water bottle onto the raft. Paige and Kara made this the highlight of our trip and the photographer caught some great shots we purchased at the end. 5 stars-can’t recommend this trip and Paige and Kara highly enough!

Ross was our guide & did a phenomenal job. All guides were very informative, professional and highly skilled. Safety is paramount! We experienced Browns Canyon intermediate with our 9-year-old son. I highly recommend The Adventures company. It’s a beautiful 1 hr 10 min drive from Breckinridge. We will become repeat customers next year!
