What To Expect
1
Mount Rushmore National Memorial
The bus departs at 9am and heads for Mount Rushmore! You will have a little over an hour to look around at your own convenience and enjoy the sites and beauty that you came to South Dakota for. We stop here first because Mount Rushmore is at it's best in the morning sun. Gutzon Borglum carved this mountain facing east towards the morning sun and intended it to be viewed this way.
2
Iron Mountain Road
After leaving Mount Rushmore we will travel along the Iron Mountain Road. A beautiful 17 mile road of breath taking scenery featuring 3 one lane tunnels that perfectly frame Mount Rushmore.
3
Custer State Park Resort
We stop for lunch inside Custer State Park at the Game Lodge and previous summer White House for president Calvin Coolidge. Try the Buffalo Stew, it's the best you will ever find!
4
Needles Highway
After lunch we depart for the Needles Hwy. This 14 mile scenic drive is sure to leave you breathless and awe struck at amazing beauty of the Black Hills. Sit back and enjoy the ride and watch the crowd gather around when we drive the bus through the Needles Eye Tunnel. With only inches to spare on each side of the bus you can relish in the fact that you are not the one driving.
5
Sylvan Lake
Take a rest stop and coffee break at the beautiful Sylvan Lake. This is among the crown jewels of Custer State Park and the beauty within it.
6
Crazy Horse Memorial
We spend about an hour at Crazy Horse Memorial. You are on your own to spend this time enjoying this piece of history in the making. Upon completion it will be the largest mountain carving in the world! Truly a piece of awe inspiring history being worked on every day.

Tour was very good. Ken our driver/guide was wonderful. Knowledgeable and friendly. Would of given a 4 or 5 star if rating him. I gave 3 stars because other staff were not friendly. Specially whoever answers the phone. We got a voicemail the next day asking if we were coming to the dinner show we booked. I called the next morning to say we didn’t book a dinner show and was informed it was part of our tour package. I said I wasn’t aware and she in a condescending tone said it was in the email confirmation. I went back to my original email and didn’t find anything about that. So missed out on that with no offer to make it right by allowing us to come another night. Again nothing about the supper show mentioned in email and if included then the tour guide should give a reminder announcement about it, for those that didn’t know or forgot. So in a few words… tour was very good but customer service was lousy. I would recommend it but beware what they may sneak in without telling you. Also said no meals included but offered a little breakfast the day of the tour which since it said in email no breakfast, we had eaten at home prior. So need to get their information and facts correct.

The driver was excellent but the bus it self needed to be retired (40years old). I am a school bus driver for 30 years and I couldn’t believe that the venue was using that bus to transport people for the whole day!! Disappointing!!!☹️

Driver was fabulous; tour interesting, great views, sufficient time to see attractions. lunch break too short for so many people, especially if you did not want to do the buffet.
