We were the "first" kayakers on the lake with a launch time around 9:30. Our guide from Saguaro Lake Ranch was friendly and provided tips for where to find some nice paddles and when the lake would start becoming busy on a Friday. We saw Bald Eagle. Heron, and a few "Snow Birds" but did not see any sheep. The scenery was well worth the paddle, as it is a very unique way to experience the beauty of the Superstition Mountains. Previous experience with kayaking is not needed, but would be helpful. I would suggest paddlers bring sun screen and water.

You need to be an experienced swimmer capable of being left on your own. You are given a life jackets, kayak, paddle and the lake is calm but it is for those who are very comfortable in water. A guide does not stay there. I had the best day ever in my kayak on the lake. Calm water, sunny day. It was my heaven.

This was a self-guided experience and we loved it. We saw mountain sheep, a variety of water fowl, and beautiful scenery. It was worth the $50 charge.
