My wife and I (both educators) agreed that of all of the tours we have experienced, this was probably the best. Our tour guide was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. We would absolutely recommend this for anyone looking for a deeper understanding of these institutions.

General tour was informative and interesting. The tour guide was knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. Be aware that at Capitol you will have their own tour guide. That was a disappointing part. The tour guide was very energetic, but it felt like heā€™s used to giving tours to school kids, not adults Could not answer a lot of questions and whatever questions he was able to answer - half the time he had to search his phone for. I would strongly advise to contact your State Rep to arrange for passes to get a more detail tour of the Capital.

Thanks for your feedback! As stated in the description of our tour, the Capitol tour is led by the US Capitol Docents. Due to security at the Capitol, the only way you can visit the Rotunda or Statuary Hall is with a docent or a congressperson or their staff. You can get a tour through your elected officials, those are subject to availability and are not necessarily more detailed, and you should be aware that many times they are led by new interns. Your guide, Paul, has led tours of all types over the last 20 years, including 15 years as a Capitol Docent. He strides to answer all questions heā€™s presented with honestly and accurately. Occasionally someone will come up with a question he does not know the answer to off the top of his head, for instance on your tour when someone asked which of the over 40 artists that worked on the Library of Congress Thomas Jefferson Building did a particular piece. In this case, a guide might resort to their notes on the subject.
