The Day trip began at 11am, Parking by the Monterey Bay Marina we purchased a day pass for our car for $8. and were chauffeured from there by Motor Coach to the Carmel Valley. Where Row upon row of Winery Tasting Rooms lined the streets. The Weather was pleasant with a nice breeze. The good news is there are 2 options, you could explore on foot at your leisure OR be driven around by a Huge Vintage John Deere Tractor pulling a long trailer with padded seats lining both sides. Everyone opted for the Tractor ride and each couple took turns sitting in the "shotgun" seat right behind the driver, a colorful character whom we all affectionately called "Cowboy." We were given Wood tokens to use in exchange for tastings at the wineries of our choice. And a red ticket good for a bottle of wine of our choice. We did our first tasting of about 5 different wines and then ventured off on the Tractor. We returned to Our Hosts Tasting room For Lunch at 1:30 having pre-ordered what we wanted from an array of Sandwiches, Soups or Salad. They were Very delicious, we also ordered a Charcuterie Board of meats, Crackers and Cheeses. It was wise to have something in our stomach before we ventured out around the area again for more tastings. Everyone in our group were pleasant and interesting people. Some had come as far as Arkansas to be there. In the end we were all deposited back at the Marina where we started the day. Hugs and Smiles as we parted from the new friends we had made.
