We've always had a good experience on the Catalina Express, but be prepared to lay out a chunk for parking at $19.00 per day. Really stupid added cost if you have to travel from far away and are stuck leaving a car there for several days.

Friendly, efficient staff. They even managed to put me on an earlier ferry which was great. Catalina itself is lovely, well worth a visit.

The trip to Catalina Island was very pleasant. I would highly recommend to anyone to upgrade their ticket to the Comodore Lounge.
