We loved the Cave of the Winds. It was so beautiful. There was no walking tour and Nick would not answer his phone when called to be able to ask about it. Our papers did not list a location to meet. It was just the show up at 1:04 to take the elevator and go explore. No tour.

The tour you purchased included a morning tour with the Maid of the Mist and then reserved admission to the cave of the winds for later in the day. I could have drove three hours, walked to the edge of the overlook and snapped a selfie by the falls but then what? The one-hour walking tour was full of great stories, interesting facts and the guide was full of knowledge and able to answer our questions. Getting a history of the area, the Native American stories, learning about attempts of people going over the falls etc. brought another depth to the trip and my husband and children all learned tons of stuff. Docent led tours are always a good idea, in my opinion, and this tour was everything I wanted it to be. I could have followed him longer to hear more!
