Was in NYC for a short trip and decided a bike tour would be a nice way to breeze through Central Park. I got really lucky and the day that we went was a great weather day. I really enjoyed the experience and my guide Dan, who is funny, friendly, and knowledgeable. You start off picking up the bike at the store, walking to the park, and then going around Central Park in the bike loop. The guide will stop some times to point out more remarkable landmarks and to keep the group together. It's a great way to kill a couple of hours in NYC, get a feel for central park (def want to get back there someday but more relaxed -- this is good for reconnaissance), and get off your feet.
- Central park has some inclines and declines, and I think the guide mentioned the loop is something like 6 mi. If you can work the gears on your bike, I don't think it should be too much of a challenge.
- The guide mentioned that a good weather Sat or Sun may make the ride more of a struggle because more people will gather at the park on those days. Maybe just something to keep in mind I guess.
- Biking closer to the guide may help you hear some more tidbits
