Central Park Zoo
The zoo is open every day of the year and features three major biomes: the Tropic Zone, Temperate Territory, and the Polar Circle. From tropical birds, to snow leopards, grizzly bears, and one of the nation’s largest colonies of Antarctic penguins, there are animals to enjoy in every season. We also feature the Tisch Children’s Zoo, a playful adventure for our youngest guests who’ll encounter goats, sheep, some of the world’s most unique ducks, and the only cow who calls Manhattan home. Our goal is to inspire our visitors and connect them to the plight of animals in the wild and the conservation work we’re doing to protect them.

Very small zoo in Central Park with animals you can tell are well looked after. On arrival to the zoo it was feeding time for the sea lions which was awesome to watch and was the highlight for us. Worth the visit but slightly on the expensive side for what's there.

We spent a great three hours at the Central Park Zoo with our two year old son. It is the perfect size for little legs and he really enjoyed seeing the variety of animals (don't miss the sea lion feeding!) We popped into the attached restaurant and considered buying lunch for our son but there were very limited healthy options and expensive in our opinion, so I'd stick to bringing a picnic/snacks if possible. Good value compared to other New York attractions for toddlers (free for under 3's!)

Knowing that everything in NY is expensive, it should have occured to me that the reasonably priced tickets were representative of the tiny box sized establishment that is Central Park Zoo. Sure, it has animals. But calling it a 'zoo' is a bit of a stretch. I have been to bigger pet shops. We had seen every exhibit within 30 minutes.
