We have visited Charleston many times over the years, and have taken just about every tour that anyone offers-carriage tours, harbor tours, ghost tours, etc. We took a ghost tour led by Mike Brown several years ago, and enjoyed it more than any other we had tried. We had planned on taking his Civil War tour ever since, and finally had the opportunity this year. We were not disappointed! Many of the other tour companies will tell you when you make reservations that the tour may be cancelled if there are not enough participants. Not Old Charleston! We had our own private Civil War and Slavery tour on a pleasant Friday morning, and it was great! Mike did not short change us one bit! In fact, he encouraged our questions, and even answered many that weren't necessarily about the Civil War. We had a wonderful experience, and will definitely check out this company again when we want another walking tour!

My husband and I took the 7:30 pm ghost tour with Denny Stiles. He was a great storyteller. We were so captivated that the 90 minute tour few by. During another walking tour around Charleston (not a ghost tour and not Old Charleston Walking Tours) our guide told one of the same stories that Denny told us on our ghost tour but Denny told it so much better. Thanks for the great tour! I will recommend it to anyone I know who travels to Charleston.

Took the "history and houses" walking tour with Dennis. It was extremely enjoyable and informative. Tour lasted longer than I expected, and ended with an interior tour of one of Charleston's oldest homes. Schedule about 3 hours for everything, so as not to be rushed. My wife and I couldn't be more pleased. Great value.
