Charlotte's Southern Charm Historical Cart Tour

Overview
Hop on our luxurious, red, open-air golf cart to see why people are saying we are the best historical tour in Charlotte (earned Badge of Excellence). We give in-depth historical information dating back to the 1700s. Learn where Elvis and other stars stayed, how the Queen City got its name, travel to see the Fourth Ward neighborhood from the 1800s, gold mining and tales of mystery throughout the cities' history. You will learn about the “medicine man” that sold a supposed magical potion, the first hospital, and the Bootlegger house.

See modern sites as well such as Bank of America Stadium, Truist Ball Field, NASCAR Hall of Fame, Parks, and many restaurants, one of which you will get a food sample from included in your tour.

We will also travel down the main street in the city showing you art, museums, restaurants, and many more landmarks.

Beautiful and Illustrious Park of the Queen City. This 5.4-acre public park was named after the Charlotte-borne artist, Romare Bearden.

Fourth Ward
The Fourth Ward historical district is a favorite of most tourists. Our customers will see charming older homes and the history of the area as well as receive insight to events and a personal touch by the residents for the tourists who come to see their homes.

Discovery Place Science
Science and Nature Museum of the Queen City. Discovery Place is a place of wonder and amusement for all ages.

Bank of America Corporate Center

Charlottes first burial ground where you will find the resting place of Revolutionary war heroes, Civil War veterans, and US House Representatives.

This tour is a must if you are a first time visitor or even as a Charlotte native!! As a homeschool mom of 4, I wanted my kids to learn the history of our city. Sheri was a fantastic tour quide and very knowledgeable. I grew up in Charlotte, but learned many things about the city that I never knew. I highly recommend Southern Charm Rides. You will not be disappointed!

Just an interesting and fun experience around Charlotte. Particularly in areas of the area we would not have seen, like the 4th ward. Sheri’s knowledge and antidotes were informative and entertaining. Very accommodating, dropped us off at our hotel when the tour was over. An entertaining, informative, and relaxed tour I would highly recommend.
