We booked this tour through the Golden Princess and were very happy with the staff and horses. Everything was well organized, maintained and run. Our guides (I think one was named Hannah and can’t remember the other) were funny and knowledgeable about the area and route. It was by no means an adventurous tour, but a nice orderly walk down the road to a clearing with nice views and back. If you’re looking for a rodeo or gallop adventure this isn’t it, but everyone was friendly and it was very enjoyable.

We did this ride as a cruise excursion. It’s very important to know that 85 pct of this ride is on a road going through the woods. For a very short time you will see a gorgeous Alaskan view. The ride is walking only as they don’t divide by skill level. You will be tail to nose in a long line of horses for the ride. Also the snacks are a plate of crackers and a two bits of salmon pate. I think the title is misleading as it is a wilderness ride on a road with cars and small tour buses. And you mainly see some trees in a thick wooded area. It’s not a ride on wilderness trails with views. I also missed where it says walking only but I am sure it is somewhere. I did give three stars because the horses are great horses and all of the staff and guides are really terrific. They share some history about the area that is interesting. But I do feel like it’s important for travelers to choose this excursion only if the like really relaxed trail rides and are not expecting real riding or amazing views. I do think if you want the other then this is a good choice. It just wasn’t for us and I felt misled by the descriptions.
