The tickets state "Our friendly greeters will be happy to direct you if you need help". However, the first three 'greeters' were far from happy, friendly or polite. I overheard (and agreed with) someone say they felt like cattle being moved around and told where to stand and queue. Thankfully, the cruise itself was absolutely superb, and our guide (David) was brilliant, funny, friendly, helpful. I suggest Circle Line need more people like David working on land. Finally, I would also advise not to upgrade to the 'premium' ticket, as when we saw the premium area on the bot I felt we were better off not upgrading.

The tour guide was amazing and friendly. He was very knowledgeable with the area and gave a history of it along with some one liner jokes which were very light and inviting. I would recommend this trip to anyone that visits New York for the first time. Well done folks!!

This cruise is not cheap, but it is worth it. Some nearly-witty guy talks some about the history of New York City, and even New Jersey, but knows enough to be quiet, especially towards the end of the trip. And he does pass on lots of useful information amidst his corny jokes. The tour itself is rich and exciting. We left at sunset, so everything got darker by the minute during the two hour tour. The bridges over the East River are fabulous, including maybe the most beautiful bridge in the US, the Brooklyn about which the guide says lots and you'll want to read more after (incredible story of genius, passion, ruthlessness). Best view of the Statue of Liberty possible--better than on her island. One tip: if you want to sit outside, get there EARLY. Outside seats fill up fast and if you get there early you can get seats on either side of the boat--better than the middle section--where nobody will cut in front of you as they take pictures.
