This was my first experience with rafting and I was a little uneasy about getting soaked with cold water. No need, it was not as cold as expected and was actually refreshing in July. I came away wishing there were more rapids and that the float was a little longer. It is a great activity for families. There were kids in our boat and they enjoyed it despite initial fear. Our guide, Orion, was good at engaging everyone in the raft and listening to everyone's preferences for the experience. The staff members at the check in were helpful and informative. I would not suggest wet suits in July unless exceptionally cold even though a number of people in our group rented them. I get cold very easily and am small but I was very comfortable in shorts and in the jacket provided. The jacket is something I would not pass up unless you have one of your own. Warning, the jackets and water socks provided are pretty smelly and you will leave wanting to clean up pretty quickly. Overall, a great experience. The bus driver was nice as well. You can leave all belongings on the bus while rafting without fear of theft etc. Buses are typical unairconditioned, rafting buses (similar to school bus). Water time itself was not as long as expected. A great part of the time allotted is for transportation, getting life vests, changing to dry clothes, etc.
