Overview

Clear Creek Canyon is unique in the quantity and quality of its rapids. It has more rapids than nearly any other commercially run stretch of whitewater in the nation. It is also free-flowing, meaning that the water levels change throughout the season, offering a variety of experiences. In addition to world-class rafting, it is also the home of the 1859 Gold Rush. Gold is still found in the creek by intrepid miners using pans and dredges. Guests will pass many sites of historical significance related to the Gold Rush while rafting on Clear Creek. Clear Creek is also conveniently located nearby Denver and other surrounding resorts, making it the perfect day-trip excursion.

Curt was a great guide! Got us easily through the rapids and around the other rafters with his great navigational skills. So much so we got to see more of the river with our additional time.

i will start off by saying that my dad drove to the wrong location at first (must type in Downstream Adventures into gps to get to correct place), so i called and warned the team that we were going to be a few minutes late. they were more than understanding and assured us they would wait for us. they were very nice about it. we lost 2 from the raft (myself included). quick recoveries thanks to our tour guide, tippy. i don’t recommend sitting in the very front row ;). had never been whitewater rafting before but otherwise it went very well and all of us had fun. fill out the waivers for all people before showing up. leave all belongings in your car and they have a supervised key rack for the car keys. bus ride to the river is about 15 minutes. they sell water shoes and sunglass holders in the gift shop. must have secure sandals (no flip flops). hope this review helps!!
