Overview

Minutes from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs State Park mermaids see the river from a whole new perspective with this clear kayaking ecotour! Kayak through a quiet estuary where, fresh and salt water mix, before paddling up the very active and beautiful spring-fed waters of the river. Be on the lookout for wildlife like manatees, turtles, fish, birds and dolphins! A great adventure for beginner paddlers but we do paddle upstream for the first half of the tour, which is a workout and worth the drift paddle back to the launch site. Your guide will stop for pics along the away! Expect an adventure that is part wild and part urban as this iconic river is a popular one to enjoy living and recreating on! We stay in our kayaks for the duration of the tour. Please remember the river and wildlife is subject to daily changes in behavior and conditions. All kayaks are tandem. Weight limit of 250lbs per seat and 425lbs per kayak. One adult to one child is required unless otherwise arranged.

Individual cannot exceed 250lbs per manufactures restrictions and the combined weight of 2 paddlers cannot exceed 425lbs
All kayaks are tandem unless otherwise arranged

Children under 3 are prohibited from participating due to safety reasons
A ratio of one adult to one child (3-17) is required to participate in this tour

Had a great time kayaking the Weeki Wachee, water was brown due to the recent storm, but wr enjoyed it nonetheless. Our guide Lisa was fun, informative, and welcoming. We would highly recommend this activity to anyone looking to get outdoors and enjoy the natural beauty of the Weeki Wachee river.

We first called in advance to book the tour and the person on the phone was very helpful and patient answering all of our questions which helped us be prepared for the tour. We went on the tour with Taylor and Danny and chose the morning 8:30 departure because they said it was the best one for manatees. When we arrived, Taylor was standing right at the parking lot waiting for us and to give us instructions - that was a nice touch. Danny on the SUP was helpful because he could help our group spot from a better angle, while Taylor gave us more background information and instructions. Both were very polite and friendly and encouraging during the trip, in terms of helping us paddle. We saw a few manatees up close and though not all of the kayaks saw them from the same angles or proximity, we all eventually saw them up close. We saw many herons and birds. We even saw a dolphin swim right by us, though not close enough to see it under the water.

Sooooo, this tour was totally awesome!!!! First I want to give a shout out to Danny, he was an incredible tour guide/teacher. He's very patient and didn't rush the more inexperienced paddlers. If you're a first timer like my wife and I were, then he is the person you want to guide you on this tour. We've learned so much from him and were in aww with the knowledge. The clear kayaks are the best features on this tour. You can see the bottom of the clear river in these kayaks. The best part is when you can see the Manatees swim underneath. ( We saw 5 of them today, yay!!)..In conclusion this is a great tour for Florida residents and visitors. I highly recommend Clear Kayak Tours. It's great for the whole family, even your favorite pooch.
