Very unique museum. Audio tour describes all of the torture devices to you as you walk through. Pretty fun.

The Medieval Torture Museum is the quintessential tourist trap. It is located in the middle of a heavily-trafficked street in a tourist town. It has nothing to do with St. Augustine. There are no artifacts here - itā€™s a collection of reproduction torture devices and ghoulish victim casts designed to attract the tourist bait rather than a museum with items someone might seek out. Itā€™s pricey at $20, though admission includes the miniature masterpieces exhibit, too. That being said, itā€™s transparently a tourist trap attraction and delivers exactly what it promises - a lot of creepy torture imagery and an audio narrator who enjoys human suffering far too much. I only visited because itā€™s conveniently open late, so I wasnā€™t skipping something else to visit, and what are vacations for other than to spend your money on such frivolities?

So informative and unique. I love that is is for mature adults and full of the twisted history of torment and death. For any horror fans as well as history buffs you will absolutely love this museum. The gift shop if full of unique gifts and the micro museum is pretty amazing too. All around a great experience.
