Interesting to learn about punishment in medieval times but it was creepy. The wax figures were creepy and I wouldn't bring my 4 year old but it was neat for my husband and I. I would go again with my older son. Would recommend

To be honest, this is not the "normal" sort of thing we generally choose to do on family vacation. However, between good reviews and our inclination toward historical curiosity, we chose to give it a try. We were certainly glad we did! It was such a gigantic collection of devices! And lots of time and effort had obviously gone into creating the displays. I would definitely not choose to take young children to this museum, as it is dark and somewhat graphic. My group did wish that there were more thorough descriptions of how the devices worked, as many of the descriptions were vague and left us not quite understanding how it worked. Regardless, the museum was a good experience and I would recommend it during your stay.
