Excellent way to celebrate our past and look to the future. The Grand Illumination weekend is very special. Be sure to visit (usually first Sunday in December, depending on when Thanksgiving falls). Lots of special activities. But the fireworks from 3 locations in the restored area! Incredible. Great music appropriate for the times (fifes and drums, for examples). Be sure to book early for hotels!

You need several days to see all of what this living museum has to offer. You can enjoy listening to and interacting with superb character interpreters. I love the special programs they have at Christmas. Take time to speak to the various interpreters and you will be amazed at what you can learn! I have been coming here for 35 years and learn something new each time.

traveled to Williamsburg for a long weekend with emphasis on Colonial Williamsburg for the Christmas decorations. Everyone was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Even though they had probably answered the same questions 47 times that day, it was as if you were the very FIRST person to ever ask that; every time and every worker! Did the carriage ride, yes it's expensive, especially when you add in a $12-$15 tip. The drivers are wealth of knowledge and fun to as well. So guys, suck it up and pay the money- your girl will love it!
