We went as a family (group of 9 - 5 kids and 2 grandparents) to explore Colonial Williamsburg. I pre-purchased entrance tickets for our group online. The main benefit of paying for the ticket was the use of the shuttle to get around the area. We only entered 1 Colonial home that required the ticket.

My kids and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here! Definitely recommend the multi-day pass because there is so much to see and do.

We visited on a hot day with the family. The trees provide plenty of shade and the exhibits are air-conditioned to the extreme. After about an hour and a half, my six-year-old and 10-year-old sons had had enough, but my 10-year-old daughter could’ve stayed hours longer. I wish we had signed up for the interactive activities, I think that would have kept the boys’ interest longer. Two recommendations I have for anyone planning a trip there. First of all bring your own water and snacks or go broke buying their’s. And second, make sure you sign up for the interactive activities right away if you have kids with you.
