When I picked up my bike they were very instructive about the bikes and the bike was in great shape. I loved having a lock included and the pouch for the lock and other things on the bike as well. I did my own tour of the city, got lost but luckily had enough time to make it back. I loved riding a bike around the city and had a good experience with Urban AdvenTours. My bike rental was included in the Boston City Pass I had gotten for the day.

My 10 year old daughter and I rented the bikes for 24 hours. The rates are much cheaper than the CityBikes and much better bikes. They fit the bikes to you, come with travel pouch and lock. We took them to the USS Constitution (they clerk told us how to go across the locks, which was cool and less crowded than Freedom trail). They will let you keep them wherever you are staying, but since we stayed close, we left them there overnight. They next day we rode to the Children's Museum and The Tea Party Experience. Easy place to bike and a lot of bike lanes.

The streets are covered with construction equipment and the bike lanes are filled also. You have to ride in the lane of traffic and cars don't really look after you. Several times I didn't think I was going to make it home. After you get through the traffic and get on the bike lanes by the Charles River, it is safe. Do not recommend this trip as you cant see anything because you are constantly watching for cars.
