Explore the stunning day-lit Contemporary Art + Design Wing, which houses the best of the last 25 years in glass, and a 500-seat Amphitheater Hot Shop, a space dedicated to live glass demos and design sessions. See glass created before your eyes during a live, narrated Hot Glass Demo, and be inspired to experience glassmaking for yourself during a Make Your Own Glass workshop, with projects for all ages. Choose from fused picture frames and suncatchers, sandblasted drinking glasses, flameworked beads, pulled-glass flowers, delicate blown ornaments, and seasonal projects (additional fee). I'm indifferent to glass but the presentation and extent of displays and exhibits here is truly awesome. Museums usually give a ho-hum reaction but here you get to see what applications glass is used for in our modern technology that you may not have thought of. If you like glass objects then you will be truly blown away!

Wow lots of information about how glass changed over the last 4000 years. The ways of making glass items. Making your own glass product. Saw the Glass Blowing on a Cruise 2 years ago and really peaked my interest in glass art. This is a great place to spend the day. We saw quit a bit of the museum but did not get it all in after 6 hours. Will return tomorrow to finish viewing and to pick up the Christmas Ornaments we helped to make.

It's great to that you were able to Make Your Own Glass at The Studio for a truly atypical museum experience and unique souvenir! The Corning Glass Museum is amazing!! I wish I knew how amazing it was so my family could have spent more time here--we had a few hours and could easily have spent the day here. The grounds are modern, clean, and well landscaped and the museum itself is fantastic--from the gift shop, to the displays, to the modern glass art area, to the demonstrations, to the classes. Wonderful opportunitites to learn about the history of glass, see beautiful glass art, jewelry, and functional pieces, as well as do hands on classes. Highly recommend a visit!

Thank you for visiting and for leaving such a comprehensive review! It's great to hear that your whole party wanted to spend more time. We typically recommend if you'd like a quick introduction to take a tour with one of our knowledgeable Glass Guides, which is included with admission. Before you visit, you can check our What's Happening Today page on our website to check our demonstration and tour schedule to begin to plan your visit before you get here. Think of us during your next trip through the area, safe travels!
