Showcasing more than 3,500 years of glassmaking history, the Corning Museum of Glass features nearly 50,000 pieces of classic and contemporary glass art and objects. See works ranging from a small Egyptian pharaoh head to an enormous Tiffany window, and discover the wonder and artistry behind glassmaking. Explore the stunning day-lit Contemporary Art + Design Wing, which houses the best of the last 25 years in glass, and a 500-seat Amphitheater Hot Shop, a space dedicated to live glass demos and design sessions. See glass created before your eyes during a live, narrated Hot Glass Demo, and be inspired to experience glassmaking for yourself during a Make Your Own Glass workshop, with projects for all ages. Choose from fused picture frames and suncatchers, sandblasted drinking glasses, flameworked beads, pulled-glass flowers, delicate blown ornaments, and seasonal projects (additional fee). If you're into glass art, this is the penultimate museum, great for visitors of all ages. Went with my teenaged daughter and made time to participate in two "make your own glass" workshops. While the glassblowing workshop will definitely give you a well-priced souvenir to take home, you really don't get to do much more that choose your shape, choose two colors, and blow into the pipe. But the flameworking workshop was awesome and I highly recommend it. We would have happily sat and watched the professionals doing hot glass demos all day long.

Thanks for visiting and for leaving a review! We strive to make the Museum a place of learning and wonder for everyone and of all ages and it sounds like you were able to make some great memories for you and your daughter. The Museum displays over 35 centuries of glass art and history as well as offer live demos all-day, every day, included with admission. It's great to hear that you were able to try your hand at making your own glass at The Studio for a truly atypical museum experience and unique souvenir! We hope to see you all again soon.

We only had 2 hours here and it wasn't enough time to eat, visit the museum and shop the gift shop. The gift shop was anywhere from reasonable to expensive. The museum would have been fun to explore but all we had time for was the glass breaking speach. The food was way over priced. We paid 8.95 for an egg salad sandwich!!! Needless to say my biggie was the gift shop. It was fun to just see what all they can do with glass. Slightly disappointed that a lot of the things were NOT made in the USA but China... Would like to go back some day.

Thanks for visiting and for leaving a review. Our average visit is 4-5 hours because from our expansive collection to our live demonstrations and large gift shop, we pack a lot into each experience. Our tickets are good for two consecutive days of admission, as a few hours is not enough to fully experience all we have to offer. Next time you visit, maybe try making your own unique souvenir through our Make Your Own Glass program. We look forward to you visiting again!

Was expecting a bit different. Spread out to appear more than it is. Nothing special about this place. Gift shop is half Chinese and other imports. Layout is NOT handicap-friendly. Having made multiple trips to FENTON GLASS, & BLENKO, I would have to suggest that you visit West Virginia to see "real" glass companies. This place is an overpriced tourist trap. NEVER AGAIN.

So sorry to hear that you were not able to successfully enjoy the many exhibits chronicling the art, history and innovations of glass and our many live demonstrations. We do offer wheelchairs for guests at our admissions desk and there are elevators, space to navigate and handicap sections at all our live demonstrations. It also seems that you missed our large Glass Artisan section in our Shops, where we have work from many local and world renowned glass artists. Best of luck and safe travels.
