Showcasing more than 3,500 years of glassmaking history, the Corning Museum of Glass features nearly 50,000 pieces of classic and contemporary glass art and objects. See works ranging from a small Egyptian pharaoh head to an enormous Tiffany window, and discover the wonder and artistry behind glassmaking. Explore the stunning day-lit Contemporary Art + Design Wing, which houses the best of the last 25 years in glass, and a 500-seat Amphitheater Hot Shop, a space dedicated to live glass demos and design sessions. See glass created before your eyes during a live, narrated Hot Glass Demo, and be inspired to experience glassmaking for yourself during a Make Your Own Glass workshop, with projects for all ages. Choose from fused picture frames and suncatchers, sandblasted drinking glasses, flameworked beads, pulled-glass flowers, delicate blown ornaments, and seasonal projects (additional fee). I could lose myself in this museum for days. Not only is it just that big, it is engrossing. If you want art, you got plenty. If you want history, its there for you to dive into. If you want science and technology - yep, there too. Do you want to try your hand at something, well, sign-up for a special hands-on seminar. Glass impacts our practical lives (windows, car windshields, cookware, fiberoptics, etc) and decorates our world (art galore) There is something for everyone to love at this museum. You will be shocked at how much time you lose just wandering around soaking it all in. It is a good thing that the cafe is so comprehensive - you will be eating a meal or 2 there!

Thank you for leaving such a glowing review! We know there is a lot for visitors to take in, so that's why admission is good for two consecutive days so visitors can wander and explore all we have to offer at their own leisurely pace. We recommend visitors do Make Your Own Glass on their first day here so the glass can anneal (cool down) overnight and they pick it up the next day. Remember, kids and teens 17 and under are always free so it can become a fun and affordable outing for the whole family. As well, we are members of the Blue Star Program which gives Active Military and their immediate family free admission throughout the summer. Thanks for visiting, we hope this is the first of many more return visits!

We stopped here as a break in our bus trip from Niagara Falls back to NYC. There is a great cafeteria and shop but for mine the '35 Centuries of Glass' Exhibition was the highlight. Such amazing pieces dating back to Roman, Greek and Egyptian times in an amazing display through the centuries. You can spend hours here.

It's great to hear that we surpassed your expectations. We have one of the most comprehensive collections of ancient glass, exploring an era when glass was viewed simply as "a stone that pours". We hope this was a great introduction to the Crystal City and that you're able to visit again soon!

Wasn’t at all sure what to expect but happy with what I found. Marvelous flow with lots of clear information. Made sense without over whelming. Good for kids
