Such an informative museum full of both technology and art! My wife and I took a short side trip to see the museum and build a craft during one of their classes.

We have been to the area many times but this is the first time we have stopped here. We purchased admission tickets several weeks before our visit due to Covid limitations on the number of people permitted at a time. We also did the glass blowing experience. The museum was definitely a must see. Beautiful exhibits and so many things to see. The cafe was nice, we stopped for a drink. The gift shop was huge and had items in all price ranges. The two gentleman who helped my husband and I with glass blowing ornaments were so nice and friendly. Unfortunately you could not “blow” glass during the pandemic but you used a little foot pedal. They explained everything they were doing. Definitely stop here if you are in the area.

This is such an outstanding place. The gallery area has amazing exhibits of the best of glass-involved art. The interconnected galleries display the history of glassmaking in fascinating detail. You can easily spend a half day or longer & still have more to see. Social distancing is adhered to & masks universally in use so it’s a place with a safe feeling. Only (slight) criticism is that it’s sad to see so much of the glass in the gift shop of Chinese origin. Definitely worth a repeat visit!

Thanks for visiting and for your compliments! It sounds like you had a great day exploring the Museum. With collections covering the art, history, and science of glass, there truly is something for every visitor to enjoy. The Museum Shops feature glass items from all around the globe, many of which are made here local to Corning. While we feature many locally made items, we also try to have items available for every budget. Thanks for the review!
