Explore the stunning day-lit Contemporary Art + Design Wing, which houses the best of the last 25 years in glass, and a 500-seat Amphitheater Hot Shop, a space dedicated to live glass demos and design sessions. See glass created before your eyes during a live, narrated Hot Glass Demo, and be inspired to experience glassmaking for yourself during a Make Your Own Glass workshop, with projects for all ages. Choose from fused picture frames and suncatchers, sandblasted drinking glasses, flameworked beads, pulled-glass flowers, delicate blown ornaments, and seasonal projects (additional fee). I went there based on my wife wanting to see this museum for years. We took an overnight trip to Corning. Visited the museum in the morning and spent the entire day there. Saw all the shows and many of the displays through out the museum. I'm glad I went and highly recommend this museum to all of any age.

Beautiful contemporary glass gallery and revised Hot Shop Amphitheater in the old Steuben factory by Thomas Pfifer (2015). Entrance pavilion, café and west bridge by Smith-Miller + Hawkinson (2001), and don't forget the adjacent Rakow Research Library by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson (2001), somewhat dated Birkerts building exhibits (1976), and the international style glass block facade of the original museum building by Harrison & Abramovitz (1951) where you can make a reservation to blow your own hot glass.

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to leave a review! You're absolutely right, the campus of The Corning Museum of Glass is a unique collection of glass architecture. The Museum’s buildings have been influenced by three distinct generations of architects, all of whom shared the goal of creating a fluid space and incorporating glass wherever possible. We hope to see you again soon!

I love glass and this museum has been on my bucket list for ages. I finally went up recently and absolutely loved my visit. I spent a very full day and a half there and still didn't see everything. Something for everyone. Watched 4 live demos of glass blowing, splurged on making 2 different blown glass projects in the studio where there are all sorts of projects to make guided by artists.. Another time I'll have to take an actual glass class. Modern glass , historical glass, glass as it's used for things like windows.. Loved, Loved the Steuben collection. So much to take in. I have a museum pass from a local museum that let me in for free, but if you buy one there it's good for 2 days which I was happily surprised at. They run a free shuttle between there, the cute downtown and the Rockwell museum. .. I will be back. Summers must be crowded since i saw a huge parking lot a bit further away.
